A Streetcar Named Desire
"Desire- the name of that rattle-trap street-car that bans through the Quarter, up one old narrow street and down another… " - Blanche, A Streetcar Named Desire.
Staged at the Ore Dock Brewing Company the summer of 2017, Tennessee Williams’ A Streetcar Named Desire was a tale of beauty, debauchery, tenderness and cruelty—brought to life as one has never seen it before, executed intimately and immersively in-the-round. A live jazz band underscored the drama with subtle precision, lending itself to the unforgettable experience that was A Streetcar Named Desire staged by Upper Peninsula Shakespeare Festival.
Brian Cabell of Word on the Street called Streetcar “… little short of phenomenal.” (Read the full review here)
Brenna Womer, a special to the Mining Journal, named Streetcar “… a must see.” (Read the full review here)
